So, a couple months back I decided to plan a trip to Melbourne to visit my online best friend. I do this once a year because I really love Melbourne and I really love my friend! It’s a tradition of ours to give each other gifts, (duh), but this time they had a new boyfriend who is an absolutely wonderful person! So I really wanted to get him something as well.

I was in an Asian pop-up store (those places are always so bright ow) and they this entire shelf full of Minecraft merch. There were these aluminium tins in the shape of blocks from the game - which I thought was so cool. So I got one for myself and one for him.

The tins themselves were pretty large so it was really awkward to fit it inside my travel bag when I was packing for the flight, but I managed to make it work, although, there was nothing else small enough that would fit inside the tin. So, it just remained as an empty useless cube in my bag.

When I got to the airport security section, I placed my bag in the tub thing that goes through the x-ray machine, and as I walked by I just caught a glimpse of the monitor screen. I can only imagine what the security worker must’ve thought when she saw a giant ominous metal box wedged inside my bag. The program made the tin bright red, and there was a bunch of little warning nodes pointing at it. Didn’t look promising.

Obviously, I was pulled aside by the security and asked to open the bag for a quick check. And at that moment, I suddenly realised…out of every single Minecraft block I could’ve chosen to take on a flight.

I chose fucking TNT.
